LOLA technology opens door to a world of possibilities for the performing arts in Australia

LOLA low latency technology demo at ITEC 2014

In an Australian-first demo, LOLA low latency audio and video streaming technology over AARNet enabled a synchronous performance by Trumpeter Panagiotis Karamanos, physically present with ITEC delegates in the Utzon Room at the Sydney Opera House, and Bassoonist Jordy Meulenbroeks, located in a studio at the Conservatorium.

100 years old

Sydney ConservatoriumThe Conservatorium of Music, home of the Conservatorium High School is celebrating its centenary this year. The Conservatorium was established by the NSW Department of Public Instruction (today’s Department of Education & Communities) and officially opened on 6 May 1915 by the Governor of NSW, Sir Gerald Strickland in the presence of the Minister for Public Instruction, Arthur Griffith Esq.

25 years old

The Faculty of Music, University of Sydney (aka Sydney Conservatorium of Music) is celebrating a quarter century functioning as the tertiary arm of the State’s Conservatorium of Music.

Year 10 drama performance

The Year 10 Drama students have been working hard since Term 3 to put together a production of the Greek tragedy Antigone.

There will be a performance for the whole school on Wednesday, 5 November, 13:30-15:00 and an evening performance on the same day 18:30-20:00

Simone Young visit

On Thursday, 27 March the school was in virtual lockdown: Simone Young, Australia’s superstar conductor, had come to the Con High. Giving most generously of her time, Simone Young conducted, tutored and discussed with Con High students aspects of her remarkable career, in particular, just what it takes to succeed that most demanding of musical métiers.
