100 years old
The Conservatorium of Music, home of the Conservatorium High School is celebrating its centenary this year. The Conservatorium was established by the NSW Department of Public Instruction (today’s Department of Education & Communities) and officially opened on 6 May 1915 by the Governor of NSW, Sir Gerald Strickland in the presence of the Minister for Public Instruction, Arthur Griffith Esq.

The Faculty of Music, University of Sydney (aka Sydney Conservatorium of Music) is celebrating a quarter century functioning as the tertiary arm of the State’s Conservatorium of Music.
